Hi, there, my friends call me warrybee.
So first of all welcome to Gozo!
Currently I work as a self-employed Teacher of English as a Foreign Language. and I also manage Dar tal-Kaptan Boutique Maison, together with Peter Muscat. I love both 'jobs' because the world comes to me and I enjoy hearing people's stories, finding out what makes them tick and sharing our worldviews.
I work in schools and with agencies on an ad-hoc basis, teach both General and Business English on Skype and privately in person. You can find out more about me in the 'about' section in my website www.myenglishprivatelesson.
In addition to teaching I regularly organise food themed events and am 'supposed' to be writing a novel set on Gozo.
Something about myself: I am passionate about food, history, trekking, travelling and film. I organise individual Raw food workshops on request and am a qualified masseur.
I believe we are here to create, experience and learn. In the past I have worked in Video Production, Disability, Journalism, Public Relations, Environmental Conservation, with the Civil Service, in Catering and Holistic Health. As you can see I like change and adapt well to new circumstances. I am sure we will find some common ground to talk about.
Right now I am addicted to the T.V. series 'Game of Thrones' and love any historical based movies/ series such as 'Rome' and 'The Borgias'. My all time fave film is the 'Pan's Labyrinth'. Music wise; Spottify is my best friend and I have an eclectic taste ranging from Jazz to world and Arabic music which seems to do something to my hips. My fave book is anything which I'm reading at the moment which right now happens to be 'At Home' by Bill Bryson.
Travel-wise, I have back-packed across Europe and India, walked the Camino di Santiago, done woofing, couch-surfing and volunteered in eco-villages and with various charities in India, but nowadays I tend to go for individualised unique B&B homestays and try to mix city and culture breaks with a week or more of trekking each year.
Regarding my style of hosting, you can see as little or as much of me as you like depending of course on my availability at the time, and on whether you book a room in my flat or if you book the flat in its entirety. I can teach you, take you on customised sightseeing trips and show you the real Gozo tourists often miss out on, guide you on trekking trips, we can prepare a meal together or I can give you a massage. Of course this is my job so there would be an additional fee for this. Friendship however is for free.
As for mottos: These would have to be 'live and let live' and Ghandi's 'be the change you want to see'.
I look forward to meeting you soon.

Xaghra is Gozo's top real estate address on the Island. Home to the island's big neolithic draw 'Ggantija Temple', said to have been built by a race of Giants and the cave where the nymph Calyspso detained Homer's hero, Ulysses , for a full seven years with her mythical charms Xaghra does not disappoint. Its main square boasts a number of busy bars, cafes and restaurants, two of which Latini and Oleander are my favourites on Gozo, the latter being one of Gozo's oldest eateries. I also love the fresh homemade lemon sorbet, pastries and cold frappuchino at Cafe Reale where the proprietor is a Gozitan wife and Sicilian husband team, marrying the best of two culture's penchant for all things sweet and sticky. The town also features a Toy Museum, a stone oven bakery, Ninu' Cave and Xerri's grotto with their stagaltite and stagalmite underground caves.
The nearest public bus (Il-Pergla, Ghonqa, bus number 322) stop is a 5 minute walk away down to the either end of the road. The bus is a circular route from the ferry in Mgarr where you disembark to Marsalforn Bay, a popular seaside resort. On the way it stops at Ramla Bay and Calypso Cave. The nearest hop on hop off tourist bus is also 5 minutes away on foot. The nearest fully stocked grocery is 5 mins away. The main square is only 15 minutes on foot, possibly less where you will find two of the Island's main banks, an ATM, restaurants and bars, a petrol station, two supermarkets, a butcher,. a police station, post office, public library and pharmacy. There is a bakery on the way to the main square. Buses into Victoria, the capital are fro the main square. From your front door there are two walking routes.
